Restore or permanently delete bookmarks

Deleting a bookmark moves it to Recently Deleted, where it stays for 30 days. After that Linkgarden removes it permanently, without asking.

  • Select it and click Delete Bookmark at the bottom of the detail area.
  • In grid view, open a card’s context menu and choose Delete.
  • On a Mac, press ⌘⌫ with a bookmark selected, or use Edit ▸ Delete Bookmark. That shortcut is customisable.

There is no confirmation — the bookmark goes to Recently Deleted and can be brought back.

  1. Click Recently Deleted in the sidebar.
  2. Open the bookmark’s context menu (right-click, or touch and hold).
  3. Choose Restore.

It returns to All Links with its folder, tags, and notes intact.

You can also restore from the Safari extension: visit the page again, click the Linkgarden icon, and the popup offers Restore rather than a save form.

  1. Open its context menu in Recently Deleted.
  2. Choose Delete Permanently.
  3. Confirm. This cannot be undone.
  1. Click Select in the header above the list.
  2. Tap each bookmark you want to remove. A filled circle marks it.
  3. Click Delete, then confirm.

The header shows how many are selected. Click Done — or press Esc on a Mac — to leave selection mode.

Click Delete All in the header, then confirm. Everything in Recently Deleted is removed permanently.

Selecting a bookmark in Recently Deleted shows a read-only detail view: its name, host, address, folder, deletion date, and notes. Nothing there is editable. Restore it first if you need to change something.

Each row also carries a countdown — Expires in 12 days, or Expires soon on the last day.

Linkgarden removes expired bookmarks when the app launches. A bookmark past 30 days that you never gave the app a chance to clean up will still be listed until the next launch.
